Doddington Therapy

Terms and Conditions

I conduct my counselling practice within the guidelines set out in the BACP ‘Ethical Framework for Counsellors’. Information relating to this document can be found at www.bacp.co.uk

Before beginning our work together, it is important that we agree various terms, as set out below:

1.     Counselling sessions will be held at a pre-agreed date, place and time. Each session must be paid in full in advance. Sessions will last 1 hour and will be charged at a rate of £80.00 per session.  Please endeavor to arrive for sessions at the appointed time.  Sessions will not be extended to accommodate any late arrival.

 2.     If you are unable to attend your session for any reason, please contact me on victoria@doddingtontherapy.co.uk, where possible, I will endeavor to re-schedule your session.  Sessions cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice will be payable.

 3.     I will endeavor to give you as much notice as possible of any absence on my part.

 4.     Use of my e-mail address is purely for administrative purposes, in particular, making or cancelling session bookings. Any contact via these means for any other reason will be referred for further discussion during our next scheduled counselling session.  In addition, due to the nature of my work, I cannot commit to checking my e-mail device on a regular basis.  Should you need emergency assistance, please contact either your GP or the emergency services.

 5.     In order for your counselling sessions to be effective, it is important that we have an open and trusting working relationship.  If at any time you feel that this no longer exists between us, or that that the work we are doing together is no longer beneficial, please discuss this with me.

6.     All matters discussed in counselling will remain confidential. There is, however, an exception to this rule, namely if at any time I feel that you are at serious risk of harm to yourself or another person.  In this instance I would endeavour to discuss my concerns with you prior to breaching confidentiality.  Should this not be possible, however, I will discuss my concerns with an appropriate third party without your prior consent.

7.     In addition, in order to practice within the Ethical Guidelines of the BACP, I am required to attend regular clinical supervision.  This may mean that I will discuss matters raised in counselling with my supervisor.  Every effort will be made to honour the confidentiality of clients during these discussions.
